Leafa is free to use and supported by advertising, with an optional premium subscription that removes ads. We collect the minimum data needed to run the app, and this policy is upfront about what our advertising partners receive and how you can control it.

We do not build profiles about you for purposes unrelated to running Leafa, and we do not use your plant photos to target ads.
4. Advertising & In-App Purchases
Leafa is free to download and is supported by advertising. Ads are served through Google AdMob, together with mediation partners such as Meta Audience Network. You may see app open ads, interstitial ads, native ads, and banners.
To serve and measure those ads, these partners may process your device's advertising identifier, approximate location, and basic device and usage signals, under their own privacy policies. We do not send them your photos or your plant history.
Leafa also offers an optional premium subscription that removes all advertisements. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple — we never receive or store your payment card details. Billing and cancellation terms are described in our Terms of Use.
5. Third-Party Services
To deliver plant identification, we use AI processing services. These services process your photo solely to return a plant identification result and operate under strict data handling agreements.

Photos you submit for identification are processed in real time and not retained on our servers beyond the processing window. Your plant history stored in the app lives only on your device and is never uploaded to us.
Anonymous crash logs are retained for up to 90 days, then automatically deleted. Data held by our advertising and analytics partners is retained according to their own published retention policies.
7. Children's Privacy
Leafa is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal data through the app, please contact us immediately and we will delete such data promptly.
We do not knowingly serve personalized advertising to children under 13.
8. Security
All communication between the app and our AI service is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any data transmitted through Leafa.
9. Local Notifications
Leafa may request permission to send local notifications to remind you of your plant care schedules — for example, watering days or fertilizing reminders.
These notifications are scheduled and stored entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or process any reminder or schedule data on our servers. Your care routines never leave your phone.
